Mission & Outreach

How You Can Get Involved

In response to the Lord’s leading for ECC to truly become missional church, ECC’s Missions & Outreach Committee (MOC) seeks to fulfill the following mission objectives:

  1. Deepening our relationship with the mission partners and providing high quality support in fostering true partnership;
  2. Intensifying outreach through Alpha Course with follow-up and through other activities for the poor and needy in the local community;
  3. Promoting mission awareness and equipping ECC family to serve in the mission field by organizing training, STM trips and a mission conference.

The MOC is currently comprised of  members under the leadership of Louisa Chan and Ricky Lai, the co-chairpersons.

There are many ways to get involved.

For local, Hong Kong outreach opportunities, we currently have small teams visiting prisons. We also conduct the Alpha course in both Cantonese and English, for those seeking to learn about or refresh their understanding of Christianity.

ECC also sends out Short Term Mission teams to countries within the region where we hope to continue strengthening our partnership with overseas mission partners. Last year, teams visited India, Mongolia, Philippines and China where we served and encouraged local students, orphans, widows, and the poor and needy, through loving and ministering to them boldly in prayer, creative arts and music, testimonies, or other needs.

Local Opportunities

  • Prison Ministry

    Do you know that members of our congregation visit prisons in Hong Kong regularly? It’s a very tangible response to Jesus’s teaching in Matthew 25: 37- 41 about caring for the downtrodden. Find out more about this ministry by talking to Ricky of the Missions & Outreach Committee.

  • Alpha Ministry

    Alpha is a series of interactive sessions designed to encourage conversation exploring the basics of the Christian faith in a friendly, informal environment. No question is out of bounds and you are free to discuss as much or as little as you wish.  It is a great way to introduce friends, family, colleagues to Christian faith. The course is in both English and Cantonese.
